The meeting between the Federal Government team and the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) did not produce the expected result for both sides and so the three days warning strike might take place tomorrow as threatened.
The trade unions threatened that unless there was a new development on their demand for N18,000 minimum wage within 48 hours of the meeting, they would press ahead with the three-day warning strike.
Comrade Promise Adelusi NLC Acting President and Chairman of the Strike Committee stated the position of the union.
After hearing from Comrade Adams Oshiomhole it is almost certain to say the strike commences tomorrow as the position of the committee set up by the National Economic Council last week to look into the issue was presented to the media by Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole , who said that they had placed all the facts at their disposal before the union to the effect that there was nothing they could do on the matter before November 25, 2010 when the National Council of State would meet.
